At Sleep Ninjas, we believe there is a better way to do business.
An honest and transparent way where customers, suppliers, and family are told the truth, and promises are kept.
An old-school belief that hard work and ethics pair well with our determination to produce the best quality and greatest value mattress we possibly can.
A CUSTOMER AND FAMILY FOCUSED BUSINESS FOR NEARLY 75 YEARS
Since 1945, our family has designed, manufactured, and marketed quality sleep products.
Our businesses have been owned and operated by four generations of family including our great grandfather, our grandfather and grandmother, their four sons and many aunts, uncles, and grandchildren.
Our family’s first business, Saunders Furniture, was founded by our great grandfather, Ralph Franklin Saunders with our great grandmother, Fanny Mae in High Point, N.C. Our grandfather, D. E. Owens Sr., joined the business after serving in the United States Navy.
Always the entrepreneur in the 50's and 60's, our grandfather successfully expanded his retail footprint in North Carolina with additional stores selling televisions, appliances, a second mattress outlet and the first toy store in the City of High Point.
NOT YOUR EVERYDAY MATTRESS PURVEYOR
From our modest start as a mattress and furniture company in 1945, our business has continued to grow. Yet with growth, our corporate DNA has never changed. Our people are paid fair wages. Our suppliers are paid on time or early. We recognize a responsibility to those around us. We were taught from an early age to try to do the right thing, not necessarily the most profitable thing.
SO HOW ARE WE DIFFERENT?
We tell the truth. We don’t re-name our mattress components so customers can’t cross-shop. We don’t make outrageous claims of ‘cutting out the middle man’ or fabricate exaggerated product costs and profits. We’re not trying to save the world but we are single-minded in making a living treating everyone fairly and respectfully.
